Sewing Project - Cowl Neck Jumper Dress

So we had some updates about the kids. Now what has Mommy been doing in her spare time? What spare time? Ha! Okay, well, I don’t have much spare time, but I have gotten into sewing things and I try to fit it in when I can. I have several projects to update, but here is a fun one I just finished.

I made this Cowl Neck Jumper Dress for a friend of ours. We’re headed to her birthday party next weekend and this is her present. I wish I had a model to try it on before I give it to her, but maybe I’ll be able to update with a picture later. This is actually the second time I made this dress. I also made one for my niece for Christmas. I think it’s adorable. It’s cute and comfy, and pink. And I think the cowl neck is hot this year.

I made it from a pattern I found on etsy from Heidi & Finn. It went together very quick and easy. I used a cotton interlock knit that I got at Hancock, which was great to work with.

I finished off the sleeves and hem with a mock coverstitch using a twin needle. I like this stitch for hemming knits because it looks like the finish on ready-to-wear clothing. See:

I have more projects coming soon. I am almost finished with a quilt I am making. Plus I have a few other things I have been making, so stay tuned.

Very cute! If we ever live close to you guys, you're going to have to teach me how to sew. :)
